What Are Inflatable Gaskets?

Inflatable gaskets (also called inflatable seals) are hollow rubber or vinyl gaskets that inflate with air pressure to create a secure, leak-tight seal on tank lids, manways, and pressure vessel hatches. When deflated, the lid opens easily for cleaning and inspection. When inflated, the gasket expands to press firmly against the sealing surface.

How to Measure for Inflatable Gaskets

Measure the outer diameter of your tank lid or manway opening in inches or centimeters.

Installation & Maintenance Tips

Installation

Clean the groove - Remove any debris, old gasket material, or residue before installing new gasket
Seat properly - Ensure gasket is fully seated in the groove around the entire circumference
Check inflation valve - Verify valve is accessible and properly oriented before closing lid
Test inflation - Inflate gasket before pressurizing tank to verify it seals correctly
Use appropriate pressure - Don't over-inflate. Typically 5-15 PSI is sufficient for sealing
