EPDM Clamp Gaskets (Various Sizes)
Tri-clamp gasket made of EPDM material. Good resistance to steam, acid and Ozone. Sizing Guide
• Temperature range: -55° F. to 275° F.
EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) clamp gaskets are versatile and durable sealing components commonly used in craft beverage making. These gaskets are designed to fit into tri-clamp fittings, creating a secure and leak-proof connection between equipment such as fermenters, kettles, and pipes. EPDM gaskets are preferred in craft beverage applications because of their excellent resistance to acids, caustic chemicals, and steam cleaning processes, which are essential for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation. They also function well within a moderate temperature range of -30°F to 300°F, making them ideal for applications where extreme heat or cold is not required.
Unlike silicone gaskets, EPDM clamp gaskets are more resistant to harsh cleaning agents, making them particularly suitable for commercial brewing environments where chemical cleaning and sterilization are routine. However, they do not handle high heat as effectively as silicone, so they may be less appropriate for "hot side" brewing tasks like boiling wort.
In craft beverage making, EPDM gaskets are primarily used to seal tri-clamp connections between tanks, hoses, and pumps to prevent leaks, ensure a sanitary process, and maintain an air-tight system. Their chemical resistance and durability contribute to long-term use, reducing the need for frequent replacements.
